Al Murabit and our partner Final Mile, a global logistics and freight forwarding company have established a joint venture that combines the global reach of Final Mile's freight forwarding network with Al Murabit's local customs clearance experience and Iraqi trucking network. Together we have established an AIR and SEA/LAND bridge into Iraq via the Baghdad International Airport and the Aqaba (Jordan) port in support of a multi-million dollar logistics contract to the US military.
Al Murabit has leveraged the Harlow Group's long existing relationship with Iraqi Customs Clearance and our trucking partners in country to provide a seamless, well managed and secure logistics chain. From the moment Final Mile's freight arrives at Baghdad International Airport or at the Jordanian border Al Murabit record, sort and process the goods through Iraqi Customs, load it onto our fleet of 40ft containerized trucks and then under secure armoured escort deliver the goods to its final destinations throughout the country.
This established end to end logistics chain is a unique offering in Iraq and affords our clients the benefits of a supply network that is specifically designed to counter the threat of pilferage, theft, insurgent activity and the bureaucratic delays that have long been associated with the importing of goods into Iraq. Our clients are able to track their goods from their point of origin anywhere around the world, during its move via air, sea or land into Iraq, through customs and then via satellite on the road from port to drop off location. At any time our clients can ask for an update as to where their cargo is, when it will enter Iraq and when it will arrive at its drop off location.
