The Al Rasheed Hotel

Our parent company, Harlow International won a high profile contract to the Government of Iraq to refurbish the Al Rasheed Hotel to a 5 Star standard in time for a Ministry of Foreign Affairs summit involving 125 Iraqi Ambassadors from around the world. Al-Murabit was requested to provide a disciplined, well trained and professional Iraqi guard force that would be in keeping with the aspirations of the Government of Iraq. With less than 30 days notice Al-Murabit recruited, trained and equipped an Iraqi security force of 110 guards, team leaders and supervisors to augment the Governments own troops. Going forwards Al Murabit are delighted to be associated with this iconic and high profile Iraqi site.

The Office of the Prime Minister of Iraq

In mid 2011 Harlow International began the refurbishment of the PM's Office in Baghdad. Al-Murabit assumed full responsibility for site security, work force mobility and security for the duration of the refurbishment at this high profile and sensitive location.

Market Entry

Since early 2011 a large number of International Oil Companies and Service Companies have been referred to us by the Minister of Oil and the National Investment Commitee. Each company has been engaging in early market entry planning meetings in Baghdad and Basra. Typically the visits last between 4 to 7 days and require executive accommodation in the International Zone as well as secure mobility around Greater Baghdad for senior executives. From the initial contact Al-Murabit assigned a senior director to the client. Together they coordinated the VIP's entry visas and helped book meetings with key Ministers and the relevant Embassies.

When each delegation arrived, they were guided through the immigration process, luggage collection and customs and introduced to their designated (security) Team Leader. The team leader provided a short safety brief, an intelligence update and showed the delegation the key safety features of the armoured vehicles they would be travelling in. The delegation then moved off in a four armoured vehicle convoy, tracked via satellite by our operations centre, to our secure accommodation in the heart of Baghdad's International Zone. The clients were able to shower, change and quickly check their emails before their first meetings . At all times during their stay the delegations were either secured by their Security team or were within our secure camp. On the final morning, the clients were issued their exit visas and returned to the Baghdad International airport, where we escorted them onto their return flights. Al-Murabit provides a similar service to clients from around the world on a daily basis and see these initial meetings as key to establishing long lasting relationships with our clients.
